The Official Stuff
Brandice Schnabel, MSW, LISW is a clinical social worker living in Ohio with her husband. She earned a BA in Sociology from Mount Union College, where her poetry was published in the college literary magazine, The Calliope. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Akron and currently works on an inpatient psychiatric unit when she’s not scratching her latest creative itch. She published a collection of poetry in 2009 and writes the first draft of a novel each November for National Novel Writing Month.
The Other Stuff
The above lists all the dry stuff, and the rest can largely be found on Twitter and this Tumblr. Here are some highlights:
- I’ve lost a lot of weight (80 lbs), with the help of running (Couch-to-5K in 2010, Cleveland Half Marathon in May 2011) and WeightWatchers (hit goal weight 9/19/11).
- I’ve embraced my role as a clinical mental health professional in the field of geropsychiatry because I like facing a challenge from a lot of different angles and working with both patients and families.
- I’m a complete nerd/geek/Apple fan girl, and the way to my heart involves large quantities of pink Starburst candies.
- I really enjoy tea and used to co-host a nerdy tea podcast called STeaP. I still casually write about tea at Tasty Sips.
