Sunday Stream of Consciousness
This has been such a great weekend, after what was just generally all around a dreadful week. Sometimes, as a therapist, you have a week where you’re left feeling productive, exhausted for good reasons because you got a lot done, and generally at least okay about the mark you left on the world. This was not one of those weeks for me, for whatever reason. I felt rushed, bogged down, and generally useless amid a week full of understaffed days wrought with turmoil and training/meeting interruptions. I worked my butt off and somehow accomplished less at the end of the week. Those weeks are hard on a person’s burn out factor. Enough said.
Saturday, Jim and I met our favorite hiking couple, Liz and Geek Jim, for what was by far my favorite hike so far this year. I fell, Liz fell, Jim took a tumble and through my dSLR in the process, and Geek Jim was sporting poison ivy from the week before. We were a hot mess, but we scrambled up ledges like monkeys and I am SO SORE that I can’t even lift my arms without serious stiffness and pain.
AND IT WAS GLORIOUS. I mean, seriously, isn’t this place gorgeous?
Baxter slept in the car on the way home, which is a sign we had finally tuckered the poor little dingo out, and then I showered up and curled my hair (which I am suddenly able to do fairly competently) and met up with my Nanowrimo pals for an off-season Saturday evening meeting. We chatted about bad writers who think they’re good writers, bad guitar players who were playing in our vicinity, and then we had chinese food and watched the Hall of Fame fireworks unexpectedly from the restaurant parking lot.
Today I’ve had nothing on my plate but except a shower, a brief WeightWatchers training, and consuming this delicious asagio cheese bagel at my local Panera while staring out at the sunshine.
Random things of note:
- My arms are unuseable, which has resulted in freakishly comical accidents today.
- I have these new dorky but well-fitted headphones. I have freakishly small ears and I can’t wear earbuds. Headphones are a constant struggle for me. I like these new ones so far.
- I have recently begun watching Dr. Who, beginning with the 9th doc, Eccleston. I am quite smitten with him now that I’m a full 7 episodes in. Why haven’t I watched this show before?
- I love the Blogsy iPad app to no end. It’s become so feature-rich and lovely that I may have to do more blogging, just so that I can use it more often.
